District 7750 Literacy Projects
Governor Burdette and several 7750 PDG’s and FDG’s as well as members of our District Literacy Committee voted to provide our clubs an opportunity to adopt one or more of these 4 possible projects this year:
- "Read to Me"--Carry out a Rotary Readers program in a Head Start classroom with 3 and 4 year olds
- "Operation Boardbook"--Organize book drives and distribute picture and concept books to low-income infants through 4 year olds
- "Build A Reader Pack"--Buy components, assemble, and distribute pre-school learning packets with 2 new books and materials to low-income 3 year olds
- "Launch a GED Preschooler’s Parent"--pay GED exam fees for 1-4 preschool parents and mentor the parent when the GED is received
All support the development of preschool literacy. We are asking our clubs to select one.
